The Northern Sea Route and the Chinese Silk Road can unite
In light of the creation of global routes between Asia and Europe, the unification of the Russian Northern Sea Route and the Chinese Silk Road seems logical and natural.
During a speech at the round table of the forum “One belt - one road”, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia was considering the possibility of combining the Northern Sea Route and the Chinese “Sea Silk Road”.
According to the Russian leader, this will create a competitive route linking Northeast, East and Southeast Asia with Europe.
In his opinion, the key to the success of such a project is the close cooperation of the participating countries, which consists in increasing the volume of transit traffic, expanding the network of port terminals and logistics centers.
Vladimir Putin called on the states present at the forum to join the implementation of this large-scale project.
In conclusion, we can say that the Russian Northern Sea Route organically fits into the concept of the Chinese Silk Road and, if the projects are combined, it will become one of its most powerful components and will greatly increase the efficiency of global routes from Asia to Europe.
Recall that yesterday the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed The EU to join the Eurasian Economic Community and the Chinese initiative of the new Silk Road.
