LG's TV roll will get a bulky base

Earlier, we wrote that the Korean giant LG is working on TVs, the screen of which will curl in roll. On the eve it became known that the manufacturer plans to bring his brainchild to the market this year. However, three patents published by the company indicate that the design of the innovation can be radically different from that shown at CES 2019.

Recall that the original sample was a compact rectangular box with the possibility of mounting on a wall, into which, in fact, the display collapsed. Now, according to information from patent applications, the screen will retract into a rather bulky triangular stand.

In the drawings submitted by the site LetsGoDigital, two versions of the "pedestal" are shown: chopped and round. Inside, in addition to the display, there will also be a 100W Dolby Atmos speaker. And all is not bad if it were not for the size of the stand, which without problems will include a regular screen, which will also gently fold in and out without having to twist into a roll.

It is not yet clear why the company decided to change the form factor of its "breakthrough" device? And will it be so? It remains only to hope that the patent displays an intermediate version, and by the time the novelty arrives on the market, LG can really surprise the public with a revolutionary solution.
