Apparently, Samsung’s achievements in the field of gadgets with “unusual” screens inspired its rival colleague LG so much that the latter also decided to surprise the public with a new invention. And this time it’s not about a revolutionary smartphone twisting into a tube.

If you believe the statements of journalists from Bloomberg, next year the LG Display TV with a folding OLED panel will appear on sale. This development has already been shown at CES 2018.

The prototype is a “plasma” with a diagonal of 65 inches, which can be pulled out of a kind of box in the lower part. Moreover, the main advantage of the device is that you can partially expand the screen, while removing black bars from widescreen video.

The words of Bloomberg reporters are also confirmed by Engadget. The latter managed to get acquainted with the manufacturer’s internal documents, which indicated that the company plans to present the final version of the device (not a prototype) already at CES 2019. By the way, Engadget suggests that the “folding” LG smartphone, previously announced by the developer, will also be presented at the exhibition. However, Bloomberg is of a different opinion.
