MEP discloses an instrument to combat Nord Stream-2
One of the contenders for the post of head of the European Commission, German MP in the European Parliament Manfred Weber spoke about the tool that can be used to stop the implementation of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline project.

Weber is confident that the second string of the Nord Stream gas pipeline will hurt Ukraine, which will forever lose transit. Moreover, having refused the services of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, Russia will be able to dictate any prices for its energy resources to Europe, the deputy said.
The main tool that will help stop the implementation of Nord Stream-2, Weber called the new gas directive of the European Union. It implies a ban on the control of gas transportation by the seller himself, that is, Russia. However, there is a reservation in the directive according to which the final word in this matter rests with the receiving party, that is, Germany.
It turns out that the "tool to stop the Russian gas pipeline" is not at all a tool. The European Commission, in whose chapter the Russophobe Weber insists, will not be able to ban Germany from receiving Russian gas, even if the Russian-controlled company remains the operator of the gas pipeline under construction.
Recall, previously a monopolist in the German gas market, the oil and gas company Wintershall suggested a roadmap according to which Russian pipeline gas and US LNG can coexist “in the world”, practically not competing with each other.
The gas pipeline being built in the Baltic Sea is a political project that has no economic expediency. I totally oppose Nord Stream 2. It is not in the interests of the EU and therefore must be stopped
