In Russia, they decided to create a Venus rover
The uncompromising race for space exploration continues. The fact that Russia, the USA and China have thoroughly decided to conquer the moon is no longer for anyone news. The Celestial Empire has landed on the back of our satellite, Roscosmos is working hard on a new transport the systemand Elon Musk experienced engine for super heavy rockets.
However, it seems that this will not be limited to this. Domestic scientists suggest paying attention to ... Venus. And this is despite the fact that the Venera-D project was excluded from the Federal Space Program until 2025. On the eve of the agency TASS it became known that specialists from NGOs named after Lavochkina got excited about the idea of creating a Venus rover.
The designers presented the project of the device, which could move on the surface of the "hot planet", withstanding extreme temperatures of up to 500 ° C. The estimated mass of the device will be: 872 kg without stock and 1059 kg, taking into account the stock. At the same time, scientists proposed to equip their brainchild with a steam engine.
It is still difficult to say how “viable” the project is and what is the likelihood of its approval. But such a development could significantly strengthen the position of Russian cosmonautics in the world arena.
