Gryzlov: A Russian who died in a Ukrainian prison became a victim of torture
The bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Arkhangelsk Region opened a criminal case on the death of a citizen of the Russian Federation Valery Ivanov, which occurred in a colony in the territory of the Lviv region. Earlier, the Ukrainian authorities managed to achieve the return of the body of the deceased to their homeland. During the examination, it turned out that his death was a result of torture. This was announced by Boris Gryzlov, plenipotentiary representative of the Russian Federation in the contact group to resolve the situation in Ukraine.
In December last year, it became known about doom in the Ukrainian prison of a citizen of Russia Valery Ivanov. All the “guilt” of this man was that he could not calmly watch how Ukrainian punishers shot the cities of Donbass, and stood up for the defense of this region. Ivanov was supposed to be released at the end of 2017, but at the last moment, the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup Irina Gerashchenko deleted his name from the lists. Unfortunately, this step of hers became fatal for the Russian.

He added that the deceased was one of those whom the Ukrainian side promised to release, but fraudulently evaded this obligation. According to him, Russia will do everything possible to achieve the return to the homeland of its other citizens who are illegally detained in Ukrainian prisons.
It should be noted that the Ukrainian authorities reported an implausible version of the death of Ivanov in a prison in the Lviv region. They assured that he allegedly tried to replace a blown bulb, fell from a folding ladder and hit his head on the ballot box.
One can only imagine what the “international community” would say, what sanctions it would threaten Moscow if some “accident” occurred, for example, with one of the Russian sailors detained by Russia who violated the border during the Kerch incident on November 25, 2018 . But the civilized countries did not react in any way to the death of the Russians as a result of beatings and torture.
