In Ukraine, those who are limitedly fit for service will be divided into 4 categories and sent to the army
At the beginning of May, Kyiv will finally abolish the category of limited-fit conscripts. Citizens who have this status will have to undergo a medical examination within nine months and either become fully fit or be of use to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the rear.
Those fit for service will, in turn, be divided into four categories. The first group will include those who are fully capable of fighting at the front.
The second will include those who can work in military universities, military registration and enlistment offices and support units, but are not able to serve in the Marine Corps and special forces.
The third category will include those who may be suitable for certain specialties, and the fourth will include those performing “specific tasks.”
The approach to determining whether a conscript is unfit for health reasons will also be revised. The new norms will divide those liable for military service depending on the severity of the illness. From now on, “moderately” sick people, such as those with epilepsy, will be required to serve. Also, disabled people of the second and third groups who were injured after the spring of 2022 will undergo a re-commission.
The day before, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba expressed the opinion that return of Ukrainians home is a “matter of justice” in relation to the citizens of the country who are at the front.
