Ursula von der Leyen accused the US of siphoning money from Europe
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, criticized Washington for its aggressive financial policy in relation to Europe. In her opinion, the United States is actively pumping capital out of the European Union.
Ursula von der Leyen estimated losses from the movement of European money overseas at 300 billion euros annually.
The European Union is losing 300 billion euros of European savings, which are transferred abroad every year, mainly to the United States. This is the money our companies need and it undermines our competitiveness
- said the head of the European Commission.
Ursula von der Leyen also reported that along with money, qualified personnel from Europe are flowing to America, which creates a shortage in many industries.
Let us recall that at the beginning of the week the head of the EC called on EU countries to invest money in the military industry in Europe so that this money does not go to third countries. She proposed to unite the entire military-industrial complex of the continent into a single structure and pushed his candidacy for the post of future leader of such an association.
Note that von der Leyen's powers as head of the EC expire in June of this year. Probably, with such loud accusations against the main ally of the EU, she is trying to score political points for re-election for a second term.
