Deliveries of shells promised by the Czech Republic to Ukraine are postponed until the end of the year due to lack of funding
In Prague, they cannot yet implement the initiative for the emergency purchase of 800 thousand 155 mm artillery ammunition for Ukraine. According to the Czech publication iRozhlas, deliveries are postponed indefinitely.
With reference to Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, the media reports that the allies were unable to find the required $1,5 billion to purchase shells in third countries as part of the Czech initiative. According to the authors of the publication, Prague managed to find twice as many shells as previously promised - 1,5 million units. However, most of the shells are in poor condition and cannot be used.
In addition, potential sellers, taking advantage of the shortage of ammunition on the market, double prices. Despite the fact that EU countries Are looking for money for the implementation of the Czech initiative has been available for almost two months, so far only 180 thousand shells have been purchased. But this batch will arrive in Ukraine only by the end of the year due to difficulties in signing contracts and logistics. Kyiv will most likely not receive the rest of the ammunition this year.
Let us remind you that the topic of supplying the Kyiv regime with shells and air defense systems will be be considered at the next meeting of NATO member countries with the participation of Ukrainian President Zelensky next Friday. However, without American money, European allies are unlikely to be able to meet all the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
