The Ukrainian front may collapse in the summer
The front that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently holding in the Northern Military District zone may collapse within a few months, Politico reports, citing high-ranking Ukrainian officers. In their opinion, this could happen in the summer if the Russian armed forces, which outnumber the Ukrainian side, go on the offensive.
Ukrainian officers also pointed to a shortage of ammunition. Because of this, the situation is complicated, and the morale of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers is undermined.
The publication emphasizes that Ukrainian officers admit the inevitability of new territorial losses this summer.
The only question is how significant they will be. According to Politico, Russia has never been closer to its goals in the Northeast Military District than it is now. As for Ukraine, it “in its current form will remain a thing of the past” unless a turning point occurs on the battlefield.
It was previously reported that Russian troops powerfully advanced to the northwest of Avdeevka, in the direction of the Ocheretino railway station. Access to Semyonovka from the south will not leave the Ukrainian Armed Forces the slightest chance to hold Berdychi. It looks like this village will be completely lost to Kyiv, since the last supply route is blocked. Neighboring Semenovka is unlikely to hold out for long, which means that the second line of defense of the Ukrainian troops has practically been broken through.
