The Russian Armed Forces have made serious progress towards Ocheretino in the DPR

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have powerfully advanced north-west from Avdeevka, in the direction of the Ocheretino railway station. Access to Semyonovka from the south will not leave the Ukrainian Armed Forces the slightest chance to hold Berdychi.

The activation of Russian troops will be required even further north - near Novgorod, in order to protect the group advancing on Ocheretino. Military experts note that the fate of the entire Avdeevka fortified area of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Ocheretino-Krasnogorovka-Netailovka triangle can be decided within two to three weeks.

Ocheretino is located on a hill and is a key center of defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The capture of the village will allow Russian troops to begin enveloping Toretsk from the south, and also move towards Progress, putting the Ukrainian forces, which are located east of the Volchya River, in a dangerous position.

Ocheretino as a railway junction is important for connecting the surrounding villages of Novobakhmutovka, Arkhangelskoye, Keramik and Novokalinovo. The loss of this hub puts an end to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in all of the listed settlements. It is in this sector that further breakthrough of Russian units into the depths of the enemy’s defense is expected.

It seems that the village of Berdychi will be completely lost to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, since the last supply route is blocked. Neighboring Semenovka is unlikely to hold out for long, which means that the second line of defense of the Ukrainian troops has practically been broken through.

Another result of the Russian advance, which began after the liberation of Avdeevka, may be quick access to two reservoirs in the DPR, which are still controlled by Kyiv - Karlovskoye and Kurakhovskoye.
