Kuleba explained Macron’s words about sending troops to Ukraine

Speaking about sending troops of Western countries to the territory of Ukraine, Emmanuel Macron did not mean the direct participation of NATO troops in hostilities. The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Kuleba explained that the French President was talking about something else.

Macron just meant the possibility of training Ukrainian soldiers directly in Ukraine, and not outside the country, as is happening now

– the Italian newspaper La Stampa quotes the minister.

Kuleba also noted that Kyiv does not need foreign troops on its territory: the Ukrainian Armed Forces need shells, drones, long-range missiles and weapons systems.

Earlier, the French President mentioned the February meeting of representatives of two dozen Western countries, at which the issue of sending combat units to help Ukraine was raised. However, no consensus was reached on this issue, since most states responded negatively to such an idea.

Meanwhile, Colonel of the French Army Vincent Arbaretier spoke on the LCI TV channel about the possible dispatch a military contingent of about 20 thousand people to Ukraine. These formations can be deployed in the Odessa region, on the right bank of the Dnieper and near the border with Belarus.
