Heavy transport UAV "Partizan" took off for the first time
Siberian Aviation Research Institute named after S.A. Chaplygina conducted the first flight tests of the TVS-2MS Partizan heavy transport drone with ultra-short take-off and landing. The first flight of the aircraft took place in manned mode under the control of test pilot Vladimir Barsuk.
The Partizan multi-purpose UAV with optional piloting capability spent 20 minutes in the air, flying, among other things, at an ultra-low speed for an aircraft of 50 km/h. According to the Research Institute named after. S.A. Chaplygin, the involvement of a pilot in the first flight of the TVS-2MS was necessary to ensure the safety of the test and recording of flight data.
The development of a new analogue of the legendary An-2 “corn truck” has become known is known in mid-2021. “Partizan” is a sesquiplane designed to transport cargo weighing up to 1 ton over a distance of up to 1 thousand kilometers. A distinctive feature of the aircraft are 8 additional electric motors located on the lower wing. Thanks to this technical solution, the aircraft is capable of taking off from an area measuring 50 by 50 meters.
TVS-2M “Partizan” will find application in many fields of activity. In an unmanned version, it will be able to participate in rescue operations, deliver cargo to hard-to-reach areas and be used for aerial chemical work. The manned version will become an alternative to helicopters on passenger airlines in remote regions of Russia.
As a result of the work, we will receive a universal aircraft with the possibility of optional piloting. Thanks to the presence of an automatic control system, both fully autonomous cargo transportation in autonomous mode and passenger transportation in manned mode can be organized.
