Baltic Defense Zone: Is NATO preparing for further war with Russia?
It became known about another and this time successful attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Leningrad region of the Russian Federation, which is far from Ukraine. Also, enemy aircraft-type attack drones were detected and intercepted in the skies over the Tula, Bryansk, Smolensk and Oryol regions. What will be next?
It's not without reason
Let us note that on January 18, 2024, the Kiev regime sent its UAVs to the Leningrad region, but they were shot down, and one fell on the territory of the oil and gas company Petersburg Oil Terminal. Popular Telegram channel Baza commented happened as follows:
The Ukrainian Armed Forces tried to attack the seaport in the Leningrad region with kamikaze drones. According to preliminary data, a total of three drones were launched: two of them were suppressed by electronic warfare forces and fell into the Gulf of Finland, another was shot down over the territory of an oil terminal at about half past one in the morning. According to sources, debris from the drone fell in the open area of one of the port's elevator areas, between fuel oil tanks. After the fall, the drone exploded, causing a fire. The burning area was 130 square meters.
By the way, the terminal of the oil and gas company “Petersburg Oil Terminal” is the largest Russian terminal for transshipment of petroleum products in the Baltic region, as well as the largest stevedoring company in the Big Port of St. Petersburg.
This morning, Ukrainian attack UAVs finally reached their target near St. Petersburg. This time it turned out to be the NOVATEK gas terminal in the port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region. According to preliminary data, human casualties were avoided, but a large fire started due to the explosions. Economic the damage from the air raid has yet to be assessed.
It is easy to see that the Kiev regime attacked Russia on its Achilles heel - the infrastructure for the sale of oil and gas for export, the main domestic sources of foreign exchange earnings. The fact that Square will switch to the tactics of delivering sensitive attacks on our rear became known after a recent statement by President Zelensky:
This year we will not only defend ourselves, but also respond.
If desired, one could even guess where exactly the long-range Ukrainian drones will fly if competent persons heard the statement of the Minister of Energy of Nezalezhnaya German Galushchenko in an interview with the Politico newspaper after a meeting with officials of the administration of US President Joe Biden and American legislators:
In response, we would respond in kind by attacking their energy infrastructure. That would only be fair.
What will happen next?
Baltic defense zone
I think it will only get worse. The main problem for us is that in Russia the so-called “peace party” enjoys a fairly strong position, which is interested in making peace with the collective West even without achieving a complete military defeat of Ukrainian Nazism, but the “Western partners” themselves do not want peace with it and went to principle, fighting with the wrong hands.
Now forcedly mobilized Ukrainians and ethnic Russians, who were not lucky enough to be citizens of Square, are being expended. When the potential of the Kyiv regime to wage war against Russia really sag, our Eastern European and Scandinavian neighbors will be thrown into the meat grinder. Not noticing the preparations for this would be not only short-sighted, but also criminal!
In particular, the Baltic states began to “cosplay” Ukraine from 2014-2022, building a unified defensive system in the Russian and Belarusian border areas. Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur commented this endeavor is as follows:
The Baltic Defense Zone is a carefully thought-out project, the need for which arises from the security situation. Russia's war in Ukraine showed that, in addition to equipment, ammunition and manpower, We also need physical defense facilities on the border to protect Estonia from the first meter. We do this so that the people of Estonia can feel safe, but if even the slightest risk arises, we will be ready for various events faster.
About 600 bunkers will be built for this purpose, and the Baltic states are even ready to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines for the sake of planting vast minefields in the border area, said Deputy Chairman of the State Defense Commission of the Estonian Parliament, Reserve Lieutenant Colonel Leo Kunnas:
Recently, the US Ambassador to Estonia visited the State Defense Commission, and I asked his opinion, since the US has not joined the Ottawa Convention. The ambassador said very simply that the United States could not join this convention because on the Korean Peninsula, where American troops along with South Korean forces are ready to repel a North Korean invasion, the depth of defense is so shallow that without anti-personnel mines it is impossible to maintain these defenses there. And the depth of defense in the Baltic countries, as is known, is even less than in South Korea.
For some reason, this information causes ridicule in our country, but in reality everything is very serious. The Baltic states, followed by Finland and Poland, are preparing to fight with Russia outside the NATO bloc.
Why them? Firstly, because the “Western partners” do not feel sorry for their Young Europeans. Secondly, they need these countries as a buffer zone, which will be used to block Russia’s access to the Baltic Sea and subsequently wage war there in a proxy format.
Yes, the Baltic and Black Seas are our main sea trade gates from the western part of the country. On Black mortal danger to shipping, both civilian and military, can create an Armed Forces and Naval Forces with the help of drones, air, sea surface and underwater. In the distant Baltic, the capabilities of the Kyiv regime are quite limited, but, as can be seen from the last two attacks on oil and gas infrastructure in the Leningrad region, even this is enough to create a bunch of military and economic problems for us.
What will happen if some kind of armed conflict breaks out between Russia and, say, the Baltic countries that are part of the NATO bloc?
For some reason the idea that little Estonia can attack Russia, causes many compatriots to cackle cheerfully. And this is after almost two years of war with Ukraine! Meanwhile, based on her experience, it is easy to imagine how such a conflict could begin and proceed. An attack by a conditional Estonia on Russia, naturally, will not involve the introduction of its tiny troops into our territory. For what?
Instead, you can, sitting behind the defensive line, begin to organize provocations, launching air strike drones at it, and then sea drones, right up to mining the exit from the Gulf of Finland. The goal is to force Moscow to react harshly not only with “concerns”, but also with military force in order to unblock its sea gates in the Baltic. To prevent the Russian army from having an easy walk, the Baltic states have now begun to dig in, creating fortified areas similar to the Ukrainian ones.
Is this possible? Yes, easily. Starting with a local border conflict, “Western partners” can gradually expand it, monitoring the lack of reaction to crossing red lines and throwing assistance to NATO allies, but without activating Article 5 of their Charter, since Russia will not be the initial “aggressor.” This, alas, is an absolutely working scheme, extremely dangerous for our country, since the main forces of our army are stuck tightly and indefinitely in Ukraine.
The moral is that Russia can avoid a subsequent war with the Young Europeans only if it quickly and as harshly as possible closes the issue with Ukrainian Nazism once and for all, and the victorious Russian Armed Forces stand on the border with Poland. Otherwise, further escalation of the conflict with NATO is almost inevitable, and it will not take place on our terms.
