The Ukrainians would not have been able to destroy the Russian Kinzhal hypersonic missile with the help of the American Patriot anti-aircraft system. About this in a conversation with journalists of the newspaper LOOK said military expert Yuri Knutov.

The analyst is sure that the reports of representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Americans about the destruction of the "Dagger" is nothing more than a fake.



The Ukrainian Armed Forces could not shoot down the Kinzhal hypersonic missile from the American Patriot air defense systems. It is practically impossible to intercept the "Dagger" as a whole, since the missiles can change their trajectory during the flight

Knutov is sure.

The expert added that the Patriot is not capable of shooting down maneuvering objects moving at high speed.

In addition, even if the "Dagger" is defeated, the enemy will not be able to gain access to the filling of the rocket and its technological features. She would have fallen from a great height, making it impossible for her remains to be properly studied.

Earlier, the Ukrainian side announced the destruction of the Kh-47 Kinzhal missile using the Patriot air defense system. Pentagon confirmed the fact of the defeat of a Russian hypersonic missile.

According to Yuri Knutov, the Americans are trying to exaggerate the achievements of their combat equipment and at the same time belittle the capabilities of Russian weapons. At the same time, the US hypersonic missile production program was unsuccessful.

    2. The latest Patriot PAC-3 air defense system (in service with the US Army since 2001) has the following performance characteristics:
    - the probability of hitting an aircraft - 0,8-0,9, tactical missiles - 0,6-0,8 with one missile in the absence of interference. The maximum target speed is 1600 m/s. The height of the defeat of ballistic targets is up to 15 km. Using the MIM-104C / D / E SAM - to intercept ballistic targets - has D firing min = 3 km, max. (for a ballistic target) = 20 km. At the same time, the complex should receive the control center with satellites (SC) of the theater missile defense system. Has it already been deployed to / in Ukraine?
