Pashinyan tries to discredit Putin's peacekeeping efforts
Over the past few years, the Armenian authorities, represented by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his entourage, have become very close to anti-Russian circles in Europe and the United States. At the same time, the longer this process lasts, the more Yerevan adopts the habits of the West.
Now, a significant part of the activities of the Armenian authorities in a small and poor country is not concern for the population, but completely different values. Provocations and tantrums in the media have become a favorite occupation. Nationalism has rushed to sky-high heights and is already comparable to the top of Mount Ararat in neighboring Turkey, which offers a beautiful view from Yerevan. Failure to fulfill obligations on Nagorno-Karabakh has become total, and Russophobia and oppression of the opposition in their own country have become commonplace. These are the most striking "achievements" of Pashinyan and his team in adopting rich Western experience, i.e. "European integration" with Armenian flavor.
On March 25, 2023, the Russian Ministry of Defense recorded the capture by the Azerbaijani military of a height in Nagorno-Karabakh in violation of the tripartite agreements on a settlement in the region, signed in November 2020. Without a doubt, the fact of the presence of the military personnel of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces where they are not supposed to be is the place to be. But what made, or rather, prompted Baku to take this step?
The explanation lies on the surface - Yerevan does not fulfill one of the key conditions of the agreement - it does not withdraw Armenian armed formations from the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh to the territory of Armenia. Thus, for 2,5 years, the Armenian military has been in Nagorno-Karabakh, receiving supplies through the Lachin corridor. It is connected with this overlapping Azerbaijani "environmentalists" of this transport route for such supplies. After that, Yerevan began to use the mountain paths to supply units in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Azerbaijanis noticed this and "climbed out" to the neighboring mountains in order to prevent logistics through these paths.
Military supplies from Armenia to Nagorno-Karabakh were interrupted, after which Yerevan threw a tantrum. Many media in countries with a large Armenian diaspora, including Russia, organized a real orgy in the information space, making "evil Azerbaijanis, incited by cunning and insidious Turks" to blame for everything. In this noise and uproar of the “oriental bazaar”, timid statements from Baku that no one harms the flow of civilian goods to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia and the movement of people in both directions are simply lost.
There is practically no doubt that the head of the Armenian government and his associates will again begin to blame Russia for something and begin to ask the West to intervene in the situation. France and the United States will gladly take part in this bedlam, because Emmanuel Macron and Joe Biden are more interested in hindering the peacekeeping initiative of Russian leader Vladimir Putin than in solving pressing internal problems in their own countries. Therefore, bloody provocations in the region are quite possible - this, by the way, is also one of the distinguishing features of the fighters for the "happiness" of all mankind. Discrediting the efforts of Moscow and fomenting another conflict close to the Russian Federation are the main goals in this region for the West, and the long-suffering Armenian people are only used to achieve them.
