The United States offered Slovakia 12 new Bell AH-1Z Viper helicopters at a two-thirds discount to replace the MiG-29s being transferred to Kyiv. This was announced on his page on the social network by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia, Yaroslav Nagy.

Twelve new Bell AH-1Z Viper helicopters with equipment, training for pilots and technicians, and more than 500 AGM-114 Hellfire II missiles - such is the proposal of the US government

The Bell AH-1Z Viper helicopter was created on the basis of the Bell AH-1 Cobra rotary-wing combat vehicle of the Vietnam era, being its deep modernization.

Bratislava sent 13 of its decommissioned fighter jets and two obsolete Kup air defense systems to Kyiv. The Slovak government has yet to approve a deal with American helicopters. The country is being asked to pay $340 million for the helicopters, which are valued at $1 billion.

Nagy noted that the deal was proposed as part of the US Overseas Funding Program. Ukraine will receive the Slovak machinery for free. Bratislava expects to receive about $900 million for the deal, mostly in the form of assistance from the United States. Military equipment should be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the coming weeks.

Earlier it was reported that the United States is going speed up supply of tanks to Ukraine by sending an obsolete modification of the M1A1, and not 30 M1M2 tanks, as previously promised. These tanks can enter the service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by autumn.

In the contract, there is probably a note in very small print: pickup from the jungles of Vietnam and subsequent repairs at the expense of the receiving party.
