The recent meeting of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and American leader Joe Biden had one interesting result, which is not advertised and is little discussed in Kiev - the absence of a mention of the Minsk Agreements in the joint statement of the parties, according to the Ukrainian website strana.news on September 5.

The parties mentioned the "Normandy format" and the "aggression" of Moscow, which "should" put an end to the war. However, the Minsk agreements are the only documents recognized in the world today, which should lead to the establishment of peace in Donbass. Therefore, the silence about them after the meeting in the White House is an alarming signal, the media said.



A source in diplomatic circles told the publication that the Americans outwardly defiantly moved away from the topic of Donbass, but the parties could make tacit decisions on this matter in the process of communication. There are two versions.

According to the first, the United States does not want to be actively involved in negotiations on the Donbass. The current state of "no peace, no war" suits them completely. They do not care about the development of Ukraine, the main thing is that it does not become closer to Russia and the sanctions pressure on Moscow continues. But with such a development of events, there is a possibility that the conflict in Donbas will slip into the active phase of hostilities. In this case, Biden is hoping for a call to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will help relieve the exacerbation. Thus, no positive shifts in the settlement of the conflict are expected. Moreover, Kiev received de facto approval from Washington for further refusal to implement the Minsk agreements.

According to the second, the US State Department is persuading Bankova to compromise on Donbass by implementing the "Steinmeier formula." At the same time, the discussion of issues is not made public, so that Biden and Zelensky are not accused by their opponents of “surrendering” to Moscow. The Americans are ready to “digest” the “reintegration” of Donbass and its “special status”. Unfreezing the conflict is not in Washington's interests, since if the situation gets out of control, the Ukrainian army will face a quick defeat, and there is simply no time to react. In addition, the United States very much wants to "drag" the Russian Federation away from the PRC, stopping the process of rapprochement between the two giant Eurasian states. The Americans are worried about the possibility of an alliance between Moscow and Beijing, so the Donbass can become a "bargaining chip", the media summed up.

Which of these versions corresponds to reality will become clear from the actions of Kiev and Washington. Note that before that, the Ukrainian edition of Novoye Vremya, close to the "philanthropist" George Soros and which is difficult to suspect of sympathy for Russia, directly reported to its readers about the unwillingness of the United States to send its soldiers to Ukraine so that they die for Ukrainian interests in Donbass.

But already now we can assume that Europe's interest in Ukraine will become much lower, if not completely disappear. .All Kiev's statements about Donbass and Crimea are nothing more than work for the domestic consumer that is not interesting to anyone outside.

    The parties simply decided to pass over this acute moment in silence.
    The American side has repeatedly voiced this topic at different levels (including Biden himself in 2016 in Ukraine). Verdict: The Minsk agreements are the only legitimate solution to the LPNR problem.
    Zelensky cannot carry out the MC, he simply will not be given influential forces inside the country. Too many have adapted to making too much money out of situations.
    For example, now in Ukraine there is an awful situation in terms of coal reserves at electric and thermal power plants. And in 7 months. In 2021, the coal companies of the Rostov region produced almost 4,3 million tons of coal, which amounted to 146% of the production volume for the same period in 2020 (2,9 million tons). Why did it happen? The Rostov mines extract coal from the same basin as the LDNR mines.
    At the same time, Ukraine, as it were, buys coal from Poland, which does not show an increase in coal production.
    And when resources flow in the dark, someone makes money on this. In any case, in Ukraine it has become a habit, which is not going to be abandoned there. And Zelensky certainly does not have enough resources to destroy this system. Not with him, it took shape, not with him, and will end. The range of such smuggling is huge.
    Biden is now not in a position to toughen his position in relation to Ukraine. The US screwed up too hard with the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Therefore, now it is better for him not to aggravate the situation. Inside the US, a demonstrative drain of another "ally" will weaken Biden's position. Which are already shaken.
    In short, a situation has arisen in which in Russia they say: "We'll cover it up, for clarity."

    1) I will join those analysts who believe that ANY development of events in CURRENT Ukraine will be a win-win for the Americans. They don't need to worry. Even the bombing of Kiev by the Aerospace Forces does not bear any losses for the United States. Only the curators from the SBU building will leave and that's it.
