In Kiev, they predict a transition to dung and straw in the event of the end of Russian gas supplies
Kiev should independently agree with Moscow not only on the transit of raw materials through the Ukrainian territory and the further fate of the Ukrainian gas transportation system, but also on the supply of gas for consumption, since serious problems with heating may begin this winter. This was announced on the air of the TV channel "Nash" by the retired police lieutenant general, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, ex-"governor" of the Transcarpathian and Lugansk regions, Gennady Moskal.
In his opinion, if the situation develops according to a negative scenario, the maintenance of the gas transportation system will be disadvantageous for Ukraine. This can happen if the transit volumes are insufficient for the cost-effective operation of the GTS.
At the same time, Washington will not help Kiev, as evidenced by the recent visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States, where he met with American leader Joe Biden and congressmen... In addition, Moskal inquired about what will be heated in Ukraine in the event of the termination of Russian gas supplies.
Are we going to freeze in winter? If political the question is, the position of the authorities should be - or we do not buy gas from the aggressor, which means we switch to firewood, switch to dung, switch to straw, hay, coal, which is also not there
- he said.
Moskal urged to be realistic. He stressed that Kiev cannot buy gas from someone other than Moscow now. Such is the harsh reality from which there is no escape. Buying "virtual" gas is not a way out of the situation.
Because our GTS is a “pure body” of Gazprom's gas transmission system. Well, we can't buy from others. There can be no miracle, trust me
- he added.
Note that in July Moskal predicted the onset of a fuel collapse in Ukraine due to the termination of gasoline supplies from Belarus.
