Russian missiles "stand up" off the coast of the United States
The first private space corporation appeared in Russia. It became the airline S7, which closed the acquisition of the floating launch site Sea Launch. Now, after more than 4 years of inactivity, the platform will be ready to compete with the American company Ilona Mask SpaceX, because launches from it will be significantly cheaper than the same Soyuz and Proton.
By the way, the marine spaceport will be located only a dozen kilometers from the office of the American company, and its owner will be able to observe the launches of its competitor.
The first years, Russian-Ukrainian Zenit rockets, which were used earlier, will enter orbit. However, their final assembly will not take place at Yuzhmash, but in the USA. The thing is that after the breakdown of technical cooperation between Kiev and Moscow, the latter lost the opportunity to supply its missile components to Ukraine. By the way, such components in the “Zenith” as much as 80%.
This will continue until Russian industry creates a Soyuz-5 launch vehicle, a draft design of which has been approved last week.
