The head of "Gazprom" is sure: "Nord Stream-2" will be built on time

The head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, rebuffed foreign analysts who talk too much about the prospects for building the Nord Stream-2 and stopping gas transit through Ukraine.

According to Miller, Western publications are most often worried about what will happen if Russia ceases to transit gas through the Ukrainian gas transportation system, or what could be the consequences of the failure of Western countries to build SP-2.

But at the same time, for some reason, such scenarios as the timely completion of Nord Stream-2 with subsequent commissioning and the continuation of gas transit through Ukraine are almost not taken into account.

As the head of Gazprom emphasized, for every “plan b” that is being talked about in connection with the termination of gas transit through the Ukrainian gas transportation system, there is its own “x-plan”.

Miller noted that the main task is to implement existing agreements with European partners. And for this you need to be safe.

When asked about what will happen after January 1, 2020, when the contract for gas transit through Ukraine ends, Miller replied with a joke that it will be New Year, which means it will be fun.
