What and to whom should Russia?

2
The further, the more often and from everywhere from the so-called "International Community" or even from some internal Russian politicians or experts are crying that Russia owes something to someone. Whether to give, or to do, or vice versa, do not interfere in something, and the like ...

In my personal impression, with a regular study of the international media, it seems that there is no other country in the world that would be something so much “due” to everyone as the Russian Federation. Although, upon closer examination, all of these requirements by someone from our country are, to put it mildly, unreasonable and unlawful. Below is a short list and a brief analysis of what has appeared most often on this topic lately.

“Must” to Ukraine

From various Ukrainian and Western politicians, as well as some “liberal-minded” Russian figures, we regularly hear calls for Russia to “take the first step” towards the Ukrainian regime (the next one is evident, since such steps have already taken place in the entire history of Ukraine’s “independence” there was so much that could not be counted ...), to realize something, to show some generosity, to let someone go, to sign something, or, as always, and this is already a classic, to sell gas for cheap. And all this based on the fact that this is the Russian Federation, they say, deprived this state of a part of its territory, and now, after all this, it seems like it unlawfully demands a normal attitude towards itself. “Put yourself in the place of the Ukrainians,” the liberals insist, “we owe them ...”. I honestly don’t really understand what they mean by that? Something like the fact that we offended the Ukrainians with something? I will not analyze for the thousandth time the absolutely adequate reasons why modern Ukraine has lost the Crimea, and in fact the Donbass, but I can quite answer the proposals “put yourself in the place of the Ukrainians who have lost territories”. We, the citizens of Russia and the Soviet Union, have already been at this place, or rather, we have been on it since 1991. Huge territories have been taken from us! Ruined the whole country! Artificially, through deception and against the will of the majority of the population, they divided the lands that the Russian state had been collecting for centuries, at the cost of blood and sweat of its citizens - our ancestors! And Russia didn’t just take someone and generously draw it all on the map, as they had practically created the territory of the once Ukrainian SSR - modern Ukraine. Russia mined it all for itself - development, development of new territories, wars at last ... So who should be more offended? But at the same time, from Russia, all those who did and organized all this, demand a normal relationship and normal communication, as if nothing had happened ... And Russia is building these very relations with all of them. And somehow, no one comes out to meet us, realizing the damage done, rather, quite the contrary, they are still trying their best to spoil more ... So why should we “put ourselves in someone else's place”? And to be aware of something?

“Must” PACE millions of euros

Russia must pay its contributions to PACE. And it seems as if solely in order to regain this “duty”, this organization “generously agreed” to some concessions in relation to the Russian Federation. But in fact, everything is exactly the opposite. I have already expressed my attitude to the membership of our country in various “important international structures” in article on the Reporter of November 24, 2018, so I will not return to this topic. But I will dwell on one point - often repeated, mainly from Ukrainian “colleagues”, conversations that, they say, the PACE delegation was returned to PACE only because of contributions to the organization’s box office. A payment of 33 million Euros per year is certainly an important thing, but for Europeans it’s not a matter of principle, and this is exactly what Europe does not because of money, but because of the possibility of resuming a constructive dialogue with representatives of the Russian Federation. And the proof of this is very simple: the main initiators of the return of the Russian delegation to the European Parliamentary Assembly were the states of the "old European Union", that is, the largest and most developed countries of Western Europe, and it is they who lose hundreds of billions of the same Euros, fundamentally supporting the US anti-Russian sanctions. They are already tired of this, too, especially since the expected result from this is not there, but this is another matter. The fact is that, for purely political reasons, Europeans are still ready to make large financial sacrifices, and 33 million Euros is clearly not the amount for which they would "sell their principles", which representatives of Ukraine so awkwardly accuse them of. And, frankly, I do not really understand why the Russian Federation should pay something to the PACE cash desk while the Russian delegation was not there? After all, this is also being discussed ...

"Must" admit that they shot down a Boeing

Russia should facilitate an investigation into the downed Malaysian Boeing. Again, I will not here again describe everything that Russia has already done on this issue, enumerate all the materials that it has provided, and the investigative actions that have been carried out exclusively on its own initiative - everyone who is interested in the subject knows this very well . But I think it makes sense to comment on the issue of trust in the authorities conducting this investigation. To whom to assist and in what? There is a fact of a crime and mass deaths as a result of this. There are, in fact, two suspects (or accused) in the crime - the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Moreover, the fault of one of them - namely, the Ukrainian side, is already, albeit partially, but proven. This is because the country did not close its airspace over the territory of military operations, where at that time, by this side, by the way, military aircraft was used by this side. And with all this, this same accused party is a full member of the ongoing investigation by the investigation team! How's that? What kind of investigation is this, in which one of the accused, who has already been proved to be at least an accomplice in the crime, and possibly a potential main defendant, has full access to the investigation materials and is among the accusers of the other accused? This is not an investigation, this is a farce. Who and what has the right to say that in this case Russia owes something to someone? Maybe first the investigation team should bring the state of the investigation itself to the framework of legality and common sense?

“Must” LGBT Community

Russia must remedy the situation with the observance of the rights of representatives of the LGBT community, moreover, specifically and precisely we are talking about one region of our country - the Chechen Republic. As you know, this is a Muslim subject of the Russian Federation with its own special characteristics. But, again, presenting these requirements, no one, firstly, presents some specific and documented evidence of existing human rights violations in this area in the described territory, and secondly, it is not clear why this issue is emphasized in relation to Russia, when in other Muslim countries, the situation in this area is actually much worse, but no one even thinks to make any claims to them? What does anyone say about this, for example, to Turkey, which, by the way, is also a member of most European international structures, including the notorious PACE? I'm already silent about the observance of certain similar "human rights" in the monarchies of the Persian Gulf, which are very respected and everywhere "shaking hands" - they can simply kill for this, for example, throw stones to death, or chop off the head with a sword, and this is state policy, not some imaginary "excesses on the ground" ... Let the "human rights activists" first take care of this there, the field of activity is more than extensive, and do not tell Russia what it owes and to whom in this area ...

“Must” under the Minsk Agreements

Russia must comply with the Minsk Agreements. An extremely strange demand, given that our country is not a party to the agreement on the Minsk Agreements, but is one of the guarantors of their compliance, together with Germany and France. But for some reason no one wants anything from the last two states. Although their responsibility on this issue with the Russian Federation is nominally the same. But this is probably the only requirement with which I can at least partially but agree - being the guarantor of the implementation of these same “Minsk Agreements”, the first and most important point of which is “Immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine and its strict implementation ”, Russia could, as a guarantor, ensure their compliance in this paragraph, if only by force. That is, it is commonplace to suppress firing points that violate the process, directly from their territory. The Russian Armed Forces have all the means for this. And after that, I’m sure that the implementation of all the other points would go better ...

But seriously, Russia in general is probably one of the small states on planet Earth, which really owes nothing to anyone. The main thing is not to listen to all this nonsense and “peck” at these “fishing rods”. After all, all this is done only in order to divert attention from the topic of who and what owes us. And there are quite a lot of such countries. Many of these countries and the peoples inhabiting them, at the same time, are generally indebted to Russia for their existence ...

But for example, the United States, these generally should almost all over the world. Trite money. And there are official receipts for this - American government bonds. And wow, “they live - they don’t itch”, they are obviously not going to give their debts to anyone, they show this with their whole appearance and behavior, and no one reproaches them for that. Yes, and how? They are a superpower!

And if Russia again starts to position itself as a superpower, then we must behave accordingly, and why not start by simply weaning everyone who is not too lazy to tell us that we owe something to someone?

it seems that there is no other country in the world that would be something as much “must” to everyone as the Russian Federation

There is - Germany. If I remember correctly, I stopped paying reparations only in 2010, but all the "Young Europeans" believe (and some still demand) that the losses from the occupation have not been fully compensated. The USSR lost the Cold War, respectively, from its successor and reparations they ask, there is nothing to be surprised at, don't be cunning.
The new "superpower" you mentioned must be measured not only with missiles, but with the standard of living. The President instructed the government to solve this problem in 6 years, a year of which the government developed a plan and appointed "responsible" (for me - the extreme). Rhetorical question - does it (the government) intend to solve the assigned tasks, if 1/6 of the time allotted for this has been spent on a "plan" that has been sucked from the finger? But the president is apparently satisfied with this attitude of the executors to his decree, since there were no personnel decisions.

Well ... I disagree with you. First of all, of the things listed in the article, nothing can be called "reparations for the lost Cold War". For a lost war - this is the collapse of the USSR, the departure of Eastern Europe, the collapse of the entire industrial complex, etc. Secondly, all the "Young Europeans" do not really think so either, with the exception of the Poles, who demand something from everyone, but without much specifics. But their situation is difficult with the territories, so all their demands are a double-edged sword - if in theory they manage to raise the issue of some reparations again, then they will have to talk with the Germans and about the territories that have ceded to Poland, and they will not allow this. And all the rest of the "young" are unlikely to demand anything from Germany for the Second World War, since they fought together with the Germans on the same side (most of the time, at least). But they all together and from us also demand something, including the former "Soviet" Balts. Thirdly, "superpower" at the world level, whether someone likes it or not, it is measured by rockets, etc. wink and the United States is the best proof of this: according to all the laws of the economy, it is a bankrupt state, but it rests solely on the strength that it has built all over the world for all its printed dollars during all this time.
As for the standard of living and the fulfillment of plans, I personally consider everything in comparison. Since the collapse of the Union and the 90s, it has become better to live in Russia, in comparison with the beginning and the middle of the 2000s, too. So the process is ongoing. It is clear that you want more and faster, but eat it as it is. For some, in Ukraine, for example, everything on the contrary really falls, although they report bravo about their successes ...
