In Russia, developed a project of a lunar robot geologist
A set of research equipment designed to implement the domestic lunar program can be replenished with a geological robot. The fact that Russian engineers from TsNII RTK developed a corresponding project was reported by the news agency the day before. TASS.
The chief designer of the aforementioned bureau, Alexander Lopota, spoke about some of the details of the project. According to him, the robotic platform created by Russian scientists will include a wide range of tools necessary for conducting research on the surface of our natural satellite. Lopota noted that the project of an automated geologist was developed jointly with the GEOKHI RAS in accordance with the objectives of the latter, aimed at conducting geological research on the surface of the Earth’s natural satellite. At the same time, the message also says that the chassis of the device can be used to create other robots, which in the future can be used in the process of forming the lunar base.
Recall that the domestic program for the development of our natural satellite includes three main stages and is designed for the period from 2021 to 2040.
