Merkel and Macron divide the European Union

2
Difficult times are coming in the European Union. Great Britain is about to exit. "Partner" Donald puts pressure on the Europeans, defending the interests of the United States, as "not native". And now, between the two leading powers of the EU, Germany and France, another cat ran. Berlin and Paris cannot agree among themselves who will lead the European Commission. It will largely depend on whether the Old World will become "German" or "French."

There are four leading posts in the supranational governing body of Europe. This is the "president", he is also the chairman of the Council of the European Union, the "prime minister", the head of the European Commission, the "head of the European Central Bank" and the "Minister of Foreign Affairs". Elective posts, the powers of current officials expire in the fall. These people determine where the Old World is going and how it will build relationships with its partners.

The representative of Germany was the first to lead the European Commission in 1958. Subsequently, there was an internal struggle for influence between the Federal Republic of Germany and, mainly, Great Britain. According to the rules, the chairman of the government is nominated by the party that receives the majority in the European Parliament. Today it is the European People's Party (EPP). For obvious reasons, the United Kingdom is losing ground, and leadership must pass to Germany. Berlin nominated Manfred Weber, head of the EPP faction in the union parliament.

However, at that time everything did not go as smoothly as we would like. The representative from Germany could not be approved for a high position. “Macron fraction” in the European Parliament hindered the FRG’s ascent. The French president has his own unspoken favorite - Michel Barnier, as you might guess, a Frenchman. Emmanuel Macron himself violently rejects the "national question":

I have nothing against the German candidacy. If Chancellor Merkel was a candidate, I would support her because she has the qualities and competencies that would allow her to be a good head of the EC.

Well, perhaps the head of the Fifth Republic outwitted himself. Angela Merkel has a good chance of catching Macron in a word and wiping her nose at the young president of France.

The fact is that for the German Chancellor, the transition to an increase will now be not the worst option. As head of the Federal Republic of Germany, she has only two years left. But at home, things are not in the best way. The ruling coalition is gradually losing ground, losing public support. Merkel herself is to blame for this in many ways, having gone too far with the immigration wrestler. Merkel’s figure becomes “toxic” to allies. Soon, she herself may be “asked” not to interfere with the acquisition political stability in Germany.

The transition to a promotion to the chair of the head of government of a united Europe is a good option to extend your career without waiting for shameful departure and oblivion. Otherwise, Angela Merkel may lose everything.

And the task of the overseas owners, whose reverted agent she is able to perform on a large scale. And her merits are already huge ... One fascist belt along the borders of Russia is worth something. True, he is now breaking through to them. Fascism cannot be kept within borders, and even where there are none ...... It’s better not to even speak.
