Another church schism: a religious war begins in Ukraine

1
In Ukraine, a church schism occurred. Another one. The so-called “patriarch” Filaret canceled the tomos that was already obtained by former president Petro Poroshenko with such difficulty. What is going on? Why is there nothing “sacred” in modern Independence?

The Local Orthodox Church of Ukraine (PCU) is the creation of President Poroshenko, created by him in an attempt to score points in a hopelessly lost election campaign. In his selfish thoughts, Pyotr Alekseevich went into schism in Orthodoxy to receive the Tomos from the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It ended for himself and his brainchild all very deplorably. The candidate lost miserably, and two months later, a split occurred already in the "schismatic" PCU.

The day before, a “local council” of the previously liquidated Kiev Patriarchate was assembled in the Ukrainian capital, which restored itself, and the Tomos of Constantinople canceled. The most interesting thing is that the so-called “patriarch” Filaret became a “double-schismatic”. Earlier, this religious leader ardently supported the initiative of President Poroshenko to find "independence" from the Moscow Patriarchate.

What has changed over some six months of the existence of the PCU?

Indeed, Filaret very actively participated in the first church schism, clearly hoping to lead a new church. However, things didn’t go further than the “patriarch” planned, who complained on the social network about the violation of certain promises made to him:

The Primate (Epiphanius) will represent the church in the Orthodox world, because the UOC receives the status of the Metropolitanate, and he will also help the patriarch in the management of the church, but the patriarch (Filaret) remains in charge of the church.

The protégé of Constantinople, Epiphanius, in the best traditions of Western communication with “natives” answered the “local shaman” that he did not give any promises, but everything is written in black and white in the document (tomos). Filaret answered in the spirit that they, the “natives,” were brazenly deceived by the “missionaries,” and now instead of dependence on Moscow, there was a dependence on the Patriarchate of Constantinople, and if they knew, “natives” that they would not have signed the tomos.

What, in fact, so infuriated the “Ukrainian patriarch” that he went to the second church schism?

If you look at the “June theses” of Filaret, it turns out that the tomos given to Kiev turned out to be “of the wrong system”:

At firstAccording to the document signed by “naive natives”, all the internal issues of the PCU passed into the jurisdiction of Constantinople, where it became necessary to bow.

Secondly, somehow it turned out that the foreign diasporas of the former Kiev Patriarchate were ceded to Constantinople, and the very center itself remained Nezalezhnaya.

Thirdly, what is most sad, all assets and financial flows closed on the Greeks. But Filaret could not endure it. A smarter "shaman" directly prescribed in a document on the restoration of the Kiev Patriarchate:

All bank accounts are accounts of the Kiev Patriarchate as a legal entity.

In fact, this is the beginning of a religious war in Ukraine. But, as it sometimes happens, not for the hearts and souls of believers, but for power and "despicable metal."

The war has just ended. The UOC has survived, but political religious organizations have begun what they always and everywhere do. The struggle for power and for money.
