Israelis show off first fully electric business jet

1
The Paris International Air Show, which is held every two years at the Le Bourget Airport, enables aircraft manufacturers from all over the world to demonstrate their new developments. This year, the Israeli start-up Eviation, which presented a working prototype of a nine-seater electric aircraft called Alice, did not miss its chance.

The aircraft received two versions of power plants developed by Siemens and magniX on special order from Eviation. Three engines were installed on the plane: one in the tail section and one more at the wingtips. The power of each unit is 260 kW, which provides a nine-seat jet cruising speed of 445 km / h. At the same time, Alice will be able to cover a distance of up to 1046 km.

Naturally, at this stage, such electric aircraft will not be able to compete with their "kerosene" counterparts in the field of long-distance commercial transport. However, Eviation may well compete for a small niche and aviation business.

Now the developer is faced with the task of obtaining a flight certificate in 2021. If the test flights take place without a hitch and a start-up document is issued, then in 2022 Alice will go into series.

it is sad that Israel has long left behind both Rusnano and the KLA.
