GTS death without transit: Ukraine has found a way out

4
Recent U.S. sanctions and a Western coalition strike on Syria have put the Russian Federation in a difficult position. The country is one step away from a direct military clash with the United States of America, Great Britain and France superior to the forces in a remote theater of operations.

Washington’s Black Label to Russian oligarchs could lead to serious problems in the export-oriented Russian the economy, which is already going through hard times. Some manifestations of “import substitution” designated as a task of state importance are not yet systemic in nature. In addition to increased defense spending, the Russian budget will be a heavy burden on the need to support businesses that are on the US sanctions list.

Ukraine decided to take advantage of the difficult situation and put forward new conditions for gas transit in Moscow. Literally the day before, Naftogaz representatives voiced their requirements for the transit of Russian natural gas through their gas transmission system in an amount of not less than 40 billion cubic meters per year. At the same time, the Ukrainian side transparently hinted that it would be nice to invest large funds in modernizing the orderly worn-out gas transmission system of the Independent. Whom Kiev expects to see in the role of a “benefactor” was not directly said, but between the lines it could be read that Ukraine was waiting for manifestations of Russian generosity.

Today, Ukraine has gone even further in its appetites. Kiev is ready to raise tariffs for the use of its GTS for the Russian Gazprom right now, without waiting for 2019, when the existing agreements expire. The representative of Naftgaz Ukrainy declares:

Kiev “clearly says that it is forced to increase the tariff for the transit of Russian gas now, in 2018-2019, if there is no transit in 2020

So Nezalezhnaya wants to compensate for possible losses from the commissioning of the Nord Stream-2 and Turkish Stream pipelines alternative to the Ukrainian gas transmission system. The cynicism of the statements of the Ukrainian side lies in the fact that they are well aware that the German Chancellor advocated maintaining the role of Ukrainian transit to the European Union.

The strategy of the Russian gas monopoly was based on the search for a replacement for the Ukrainian gas transportation system for access to the European gas market. For this, the Turkish Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines were developed. However, Angela Merkel destroyed the castles of the leadership of Gazprom. Ultimately, Europe will receive diversification of its energy market through an additional pipeline, most of which will be built at the expense of the Russian company. Also, the European Union is actively building infrastructure to receive liquefied natural gas from the United States of America. Due to its successful geopolitical combination, the US will be able to make good money from exporting surplus gas resulting from the “shale revolution”. And Germany and the European Union will be able to play on the balance of interests between Moscow and Washington.

Ukraine is currently plugging holes due to reverse from Poland and Slovakia, and is 4 times more expensive than previously directly from Gazprom. The country plans to purchase LNG from Qatar in transit through the Polish terminal and Turkish straits. Kiev plans to recapture its financial losses in the new political situation through extortion from Moscow. Special options do not pay until it is visible. Ultimately, Russian consumers and taxpayers will pay for all of Gazprom’s losses.

The only way to avoid total defeat in this confrontation is to reconsider your attitude to the Kiev regime, fortunately, it constantly gives rise to this.

"Kiev plans to recapture its financial losses in the new political situation by extortion from Moscow. There are no special options not to pay yet. Ultimately, Russian consumers and taxpayers will pay for all of Gazprom's losses." Another "all-propalschik" was found, where they come from, and you just want to cheer up the alarmist, otherwise he will fall into an uncontrollable depression. Without you, dear ones, they will figure it out and how it is beneficial for Russia, you have not forgotten that Russia is an independent state and, if necessary, we can stop the transit to Europe altogether, and I assure you, nothing bad will happen.
