Within the framework of the largest international aerospace show Paris-Le Bourget, the French giant Airbus introduced its new passenger aircraft, which will be the longest narrow-body airliner in the world. However, the dimensions are not the only feature of the latent apparatus. The aircraft, called the A321XLR (Xtra Long Range), will be able to cover a distance of 8700 km, which is 15% more than the previous A321LR, while consuming less fuel.

The new Airbus will be the continuation of the A320neo family and will be able to take on board up to 240 passengers. Its maximum take-off weight will be 101 tons. Compared to its predecessor (all the same A321LR), A321XLR will consume kerosene 30% less, which will allow it to stay in the air for an hour longer (up to 10 hours).

Representatives of the developer company noted that the "cost-effectiveness" of their new brainchild will reduce the cost of tickets for long-distance flights. For example, from Europe to India or from China to Australia. In addition, Airbus added that in the future the A321XLR will be able to operate flights from Europe to the United States.

The first customers will be able to get a new liner as early as 2023. The manufacturer also noted that the A320neo family of aircraft, which includes the A321XLR, has been demonstrating the best sales performance for nine years.
