Underwater robot "Harpsichord" is being tested in Russia

2
Central Design Bureau of Marine equipment (JSC TsKB MT Rubin) from St. Petersburg, one of the leading Soviet and Russian enterprises in the field of designing various submarines, reported that the tests conducted in 2018 for the Klavaysin-2R-PM underwater robot confirmed the design solutions. This is stated in the annual report of the enterprise (there is no information for 2019 yet).

It is clarified that tests of the aforementioned autonomous uninhabited underwater vehicle (AUV) confirmed the correctness of the basic principles and functioning algorithms incorporated into the complex (code 2P52 or “Harpsichord-2P-PM”).

It should be noted that work on this AUV began after the signing of state contract No. 748/31 / 664PM-2009 / 27-09 dated May 19, 2009, concluded between JSC Central Design Bureau MT Rubin and the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The first tests of the AUV began in 2016. At first it was tested in the pool, then refinements were made to the design and again tested. After that, the developers began to test the AUV in the Black Sea. In May 2018, the ANPA was launched at the training ground in Feodosia from an experimental vessel of the project 20360OS “Viktor Cherokov” of the Russian Navy, developed by the Vympel design bureau in Nizhny Novgorod.

It should be recalled that JSC Central Design Bureau MT Rubin does not conduct development alone. The work is carried out jointly with the Institute of Marine Technology Problems of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPMT FEB RAS, Vladivostok). By the way, “Harpsichord-2R-PM” is a further development of the Harpsichord-1R developed by the indicated institute.

Moreover, the next generation - “Harpsichord-2R-PM” should be part of the complex of equipment for nuclear submarines for special purposes (PLASN): project 09852 BS-139 Belgorod (“spy submarine”) and project 09787 BS-64 “Moscow suburbs” ( carrier of special-purpose deep-sea vehicles).

In addition to performing survey and search functions, the Harpsichord-2R-PM can solve a wide range of various tasks of a scientific research nature and other issues useful to the state.

In the photo I see an interesting (witty, relatively simple and sufficiently protected from external mechanical influences) technical solution for three-plane control of this device, as I understand it, without moving rudders, only by adjusting the speed of the corresponding propellers located, with an inclination, on stationary pylons, that is, the number of breaking moving parts is reduced to a reliable minimum ?! good
