Huawei "tries on" the Russian OS "Aurora" on their gadgets

Due to ongoing U.S. sanctions, Huawei is trying to find new solutions that will enable it to maintain its position in the industry. So, on the eve it became known about the negotiations between the Minister of Digital Development and Communications of Russia and the director of the Chinese brand Guo Ping on the use of the domestic Aurora OS in Huawei gadgets. In addition, this topic was also discussed at the meeting between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.

The need to switch the Chinese brand from Android to other operating systems arose due to blocking by American companies and, as a result, the lack of the ability to fully use the latter. In this situation, according to functionaries from Huawei, the Russian Aurora, created on the basis of Sailfish OS, could become a worthy replacement for software from Google.

However, the transition to the domestic OS was not the only topic of conversation between Russian and Chinese representatives. As it became known, future partners from China also discussed options for co-production of chips and software development for portable gadgets.

It is worth noting that the Russian operating system "Aurora" is not the only trump card of Huawei. It has been rumored for a long time that the Chinese brand is developing its own shell called Hongmeng OS, which may be introduced in late summer.
