Power ax: a unique instrument was invented in Russia
Everyone who chopped firewood at least once knows that it is far from always possible to cut a log with one blow. However, now it is in the past. Thanks to the project “power ax” from the Russian inventor Maxim Kasatkin, it will become much easier to harvest firewood for the winter, and a log of any thickness will be split the first time.
The essence of the innovation lies in the fact that the logger’s already familiar tool was equipped with an electric motor, battery, control unit and several sensors, and a number of gears were built along the wedge. So, if during the cutting process you could not split the log with one blow, then you can turn on the electric motor, which will set the gears in motion. The latter, in turn, will begin to move along the split and deepen the ax wedge, bringing the work you started to its logical end.
An important role is played by the sensors built into the instrument. Their task is to determine the power that will be required to "log" logs. This will save power on the built-in battery. However, even if the latter is completely discharged, you can continue to use the novelty without any problems, like an ordinary ax.
The domestic inventor has already published his project on the crowdfunding platform Boomstarter. The developer plans to collect 100 thousand rubles for the manufacture of the first prototype of the "power ax". According to preliminary estimates by Maxim, the cost of a “light” version of a tool without sensors can be 50 thousand rubles.
