Lamborghini has shown a supercar with off-road character
The world's first sports car with the functions of an SUV on the eve presented the Italian concern Lamborghini. Supercar equipped by technology LDVI, which automatically recognizes the actions of the driver and helps the latter in the management of on-board systems, was called Sterrato.
It is worth noting that fans of the brand expected something similar from the company, after the manufacturer released the Huracan Evo model with an engine for 610 horses. However, the off-road version managed to “surpass” its predecessor and received an even more powerful 5,2-liter engine with 640 hp. The ground clearance in the new model from Lamborghini was increased to 47 mm, and the lower part was reinforced with aluminum sheets.
For safe off-road driving, the supercar received a lightweight titanium frame and a driver's seat with a 4-point belt-fastening system (in case of capsizing), and composite barriers were installed around the engine and air intakes to protect against pebbles. Due to the fact that Sterrato was equipped with 20-inch wheels, the wings had to be expanded by 30 mm, despite the fact that in models from the Italian manufacturer they are already considerable.
In addition, to improve aerodynamics, the car was equipped with additional air ducts. Powerful headlights were placed on the bumper of the sports utility vehicle, and the signal lights, which received an angular arrow-shaped form, make the “monster” from Lamborghini even more aggressive.
As for the cost of the world's first off-road sports car, the manufacturer has not yet begun to share this information.
