The United States hit the tourism industry in Cuba in retaliation for helping Venezuela

1
US continues policies economic pressure on Cuba. The existence of the “Liberty Island” as a symbol of resistance to American imperialism for 60 years is one of the main annoying factors for Washington in Latin America.

On June 4, the US Treasury announced a decision to ban group travel to Cuba for educational purposes. In addition, the supply of cars and private jets to the Liberty Island will be prohibited.

The US Department of State, in turn, reported on the ban on cruise ships entering Cuban ports. An exception was not made even for private ships and yachts, which are also prohibited from visiting Cuba.

US authorities do not hide that this time the main goal of US sanctions is the tourism industry in Cuba. In recent years, tourism has been one of the main sources of income for Havana.

Washington claims that the tourism industry is controlled by the Cuban security forces - the military, intelligence and counterintelligence, and the proceeds are used to strengthen Cuba’s military power and support Venezuela, one of the main allies of the “Liberty Island” in Latin America.

Thus, despite the attempts of Barack Obama and even Donald Trump to normalize relations with the “Liberty Island”, the real masters of the United States - representatives of the political and financial establishment, congressmen and senators - intend to continue to pursue a policy of sanctions.
