Ukraine accused Russia of financing terrorism in court

Ukraine has filed a lawsuit in the UN International Court in The Hague against Russia, accusing it of violating the Convention on the Prohibition of the Financing of Terrorism. This was announced on his Facebook page by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Elena Zerkal.

She cited excerpts from a court statement by Professor Jean-Marc Tuvenin, representing the interests of Kiev in court. He states that Moscow refused to investigate the activities of individuals suspected of terrorist activity in Ukraine. Such inaction, in the professor’s opinion, violates the provisions of article 12 of the international Convention, which require mutual assistance and legal assistance from signatories.

Tuvenen also sees in Russia's actions a violation of Article 18 of this document, which is expressed in omissions, passivity, procrastination and evasion of cooperation.

The trial in The Hague has been ongoing since 2017, when Ukraine filed a lawsuit against the Russian Federation, accusing it of violating two conventions. In addition to the document on the financing of terrorism, Moscow allegedly violated the Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The Hague hearing will take place in two rounds. The first takes place on June 3 and 4, and the second will be held on June 6 and 7.

Ogrychins run through the courts of Europe, but they themselves have not decided - either they want to use the toilet lightly, or it will be more serious.
