Turkey refuted the refusal of C-400

Constant information feeds about Turkey’s possible refusal to purchase Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems are forcing Ankara to make public statements over and over again.

Turkish Anadolu agency announces the latest statement by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which he confirms Ankara’s intention to acquire the S-400. In his statement, Erdogan noted that Turkey fulfills all the requirements of the agreements and does not intend to backtrack from the transaction:

There is no question that we will take a step back on the question of the S-400. We have an agreement that we are implementing.

The Turkish leader did not hide the fact that his country could buy the American Patriot air defense systems, but the United States did not make such an offer.

Meanwhile, on May 31, US President Donald Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to create an S-400 air defense research group. The joint group will study the risks that the Russian complex carries for the fifth-generation American fighter F-35.

A number of experts suggest that in this way the parties are trying to lower the degree in relations between countries, which, after an attempted armed coup in Turkey, initiated by the United States, can hardly be called partnership.
