Israeli intelligence accused Iran of attacking tankers in the UAE
The version of Iran’s involvement in the attacks on tankers in the port of the UAE, which was actively promoted by the United States, received the expected support from Israel. According to the Israeli foreign intelligence agency Mossad, it was Tehran that was behind the explosions of four tankers off the coast of the Emirates.
A representative of the Israeli Navy also made his comment, who described the attack on tankers as a “pretty impressive operation” of Iran and noted that the plan was to damage the ships themselves in Tehran, but not to harm the people on board.
In turn, the Israeli press writes that if both in the US and in Israel they started talking about Iran’s involvement in the attacks on tankers, then it is necessary to provide the public with comprehensive evidence as soon as possible, which would exclude any possibility of slandering Tehran.
By the way, another US regional ally in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, which is a long-standing economic rival and ideological opponent of Iran, immediately declared the Iranian footprint in the attack on tankers.
Recall that on May 12, several explosions occurred in the port of the emirate of Fujairah (UAE), as a result of which 7 to 10 tankers located offshore caught fire. The UAE Foreign Ministry immediately appreciated the incident as a sabotage, and the UAE’s neighbor, Saudi Arabia, hastened to accuse Iran of it.
