Russia compensates Poland for losses from "dirty" oil

Russia is ready to compensate foreign recipients of Russian oil for losses incurred from pollution in the Druzhba pipeline. Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Pavel Sorokin said that agreement on compensation has already been reached.





Meanwhile, the Polish fuel concern Orlen, which is one of the buyers of Russian oil, said that negotiations in Moscow on the issue of compensation for "dirty" oil were disruptive. The head of the concern, Daniel Obaytek, stressed that the desired results were achieved thanks to the support of the government.

The Polish side was presented with a compensation mechanism between Transneft and oil producers,

- told in the concern.

At the same time, according to the Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Sorokin, the parties have not yet discussed specific amounts of compensation. But the interaction mechanisms have already been developed and agreed upon by all parties involved in the negotiations.

In the meantime, it became known that Hungary and Slovakia have already resumed the regular regime for receiving Russian oil coming to these countries via the Druzhba pipeline. As for Poland, it is planned to resume oil supplies to this state on June 8-9. Compensation is a prerequisite in order to maintain the reputation of a responsible supplier.
