“Breakthrough” from Rosatom will solve the problem of radioactive waste

Rosatom’s ambitious project “Breakthrough”, implemented at the Siberian Chemical Plant, if successful, will, without any doubt, justify its name. The creation of a new technological platform with a closed nuclear cycle will not only solve the problem of accumulation of radioactive waste, but will also increase the rate economic the effectiveness of domestic nuclear power plants.

Currently, work is underway on the sites of the Siberian Chemical Plant located in Seversk as part of the Breakthrough project. In particular, we are talking about the construction of a pilot demonstration energy complex, a plant where a new type of mixed nitride uranium-plutonium fuel will be produced (in the future, all domestic nuclear power will operate on it), the BREST-300 reactor installation, and complex for the processing of radioactive waste (spent fuel).

Recall that earlier Vyacheslav Pershukov, the project manager, announced the return of Rosatom to its original plan, where the commissioning of the production / processing module of the control system is scheduled for 2020. At the same time, the functionary added that the cost of the latest reactor facility could be reduced by 5 billion rubles, thanks to new technological solutions.

There is no doubt in success, all the same it is Rosatom, and the technology of fast reactors to Russian scientists is not new. I think that in the next couple of years the cycle will close. and Russian scientists will achieve this!

I hope there will be less waste.

Yes, there seems to be already a fusion reactor on the way

The first breakthrough. this is the EURT — a burial ground and thousands of square kilometers of land taken out of circulation.
The second is the discharge of highly radioactive waste into the Techa River, hundreds of villagers affected by radiation sickness, and the village of Muslyumovo, "buried" 40 years later.
the third impulse is an accident at the LNPP.
the fourth breakthrough is the Chernobyl disaster ...
the fifth breakthrough is the ruthenium emission in 2017, which the "absolutely trustworthy" commission (like Rosatom) attributed to the satellite (which no one saw), which allegedly entered the atmosphere directly above the Maniac (Mayak) plant, this time the cloud was carried to Europe where they sounded the alarm and Rosatom had to awkwardly make excuses, once again sitting in a puddle ... - Roshydromet identified the Rosatom plant as the epicenter of the emission - that's a bad luck ...

With every news from Rosatom with the topic "breakthrough", you look at the radiometer and check the gas mask.
