Production of the newest carrier rocket “Soyuz-5” has begun.
Today, production of the new Russian Soyuz-5 launch vehicle has been launched. This was told by the General Director of the Progress Rocket and Space Center Dmitry Baranov.
The head of the center said that his company had already begun manufacturing tanks for the latest rocket. He understands that there are very strict deadlines for the manufacturer to complete tasks that must never be disrupted. Baranov has no doubts about his enterprise, its scientific and production potential, therefore he is sure that the tasks set for Progress will be completed.
The Soyuz-5 rocket belongs to the middle class. It will be used instead of the Zenit rocket, which was produced thanks to the joint efforts of Russian and Ukrainian manufacturers. It is assumed that the first launch of a new aircraft will be made in 2022.
The head of Roskosmos Dmitry Rogozin has high hopes for Soyuz-5. He sees significant prospects in the commercial use of rockets. Rogozin believes that it is able to largely supplant American launch vehicles. This is due to the low cost of Russian development relative to foreign analogues.
