The Kremlin attended to the poverty of the Russian population
The data of statistical and sociological studies on the decline in the income of Russians, appearing with enviable frequency in the Russian media, seriously alarmed the country's leadership. After all, a poor population is the key to the emergence of numerous social and economic problems.
So, according to a Rosstat study, about half of Russian citizens have enough income only for food and clothing, and 15% of the money polled is only enough for food. In the risk category are pensioners, large families, people with disabilities, and provincials.
A spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, was even forced to specifically emphasize that the Kremlin soberly assesses the situation with the incomes of Russians.
- noted Peskov.
However, among the main reasons for the decline in the well-being of the population, the head of state’s spokesman highlights international trends, trade wars and anti-Russian sanctions.
Of course, all these factors really affect the Russian economy. But for some reason, the question of the effectiveness of the economic management of the country, the very path of its development is not asked, and the Russians could not boast of a high standard of living even before the imposition of sanctions.

Undoubtedly, the general decline in incomes is noted by many organizations that are involved in statistics, including Rosstat. It is not always possible to understand this or that information, although, in general, this is a general background, which, indeed, is the object of very close attention,
- noted Peskov.
