Terms of cleaning the Druzhba pipeline from dirty oil are named
Transneft has embarked on a large-scale complex of measures aimed at cleaning the Druzhba pipeline system from contaminated oil that has got there.
Transneft Vice President Sergei Andronov in an interview with the publication Kommersant told what specific measures are provided for by the road map, and in what time frame they will be implemented.
According to him, the total volume of oil contaminated with chlorine compounds amounted to about 3 million tons, and it will take six to eight months to clean the pipeline.
Contaminated oil, which will be returned to Russia from a number of countries, will be placed in the free tanks of the tank farms of Transneft subsidiaries.
The Road Map stipulates that in Poland contaminated oil in reserve tanks will be diluted clean to the condition that will allow it to be processed at Polish refineries.
Pure oil will be delivered by sea through the port of Gdansk and through the Druzhba pipeline.
Also, Andronov said that the issue of compensation was worked out and agreed with the Ministry of Energy. Almost all Russian shippers agreed with the option that Transneft proposed. For those who do not agree with the proposed conditions, there will be only one way - through litigation.
