The military helicopter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine crashed in the territory of the Rivne region of Ukraine. As a result of the disaster, five people were killed.

The Mi-8 helicopter, which belonged to the 16th separate brigade of army aviation of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ceased to communicate at 23.27 on Wednesday, May 29. As it turned out, the Mi-8 fell near the village of Sestryatin in the Radivilovsky district of the Rivne region.

The machine performed a training flight, on board were four crew members, including the commander of the 16th separate army aviation brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They all died.

Currently, representatives of the command of the army aviation, rescuers, investigators are working at the scene of the helicopter crash. All circumstances and causes of the incident are clarified. On the official page of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, condolences are brought to the families and friends of the deceased servicemen.

Recall that this is not the first catastrophe of military helicopters and aircraft in Ukraine. At the end of 2018, two Su-27 AFU crashed - one in October and one in December, and during the crash of one of the Su-27, an American soldier on board was also killed.

Of course, not a single armed force of the world is safe from plane crashes, but to be fair, the state equipment The Armed Forces of Ukraine leaves much to be desired, as well as the training of military-technical personnel.
