Chaika added that since 2017, according to the results of prosecutorial inspections, 550 pilots have been suspended from flights and the activities of two aviation training centers have been suspended, and 160 flight certificates have been canceled. In addition, more than 400 civilian aircraft were found to have unlawful changes in the standard design, which were made without the necessary research and have no certification.

As for the SSJ-100 crash in Sheremetyevo, on May 29, 2019, the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal said that the human factor was the cause of the incident. He emphasized that the regional Ministry of Transport has already received technical the conclusion, according to which the airliner was fully operational, "until the last minute the engines worked fine." That is, the plane crash happened solely through the fault of the pilots.

Aeroflot’s reaction was instant. The company said that Furgal’s statement was a frank attempt to influence the IAC commission, the investigation and public opinion.
