Russian Foreign Ministry surprised by the massive phone checks from the Russians on the border with China
At the checkpoints of the PRC, cases of checking by the Chinese border guards the contents of the phones of Russian citizens traveling to the Middle Kingdom increased.
The Consulate General of Russia in Guangzhou sent a detailed note to the Chinese side asking to explain why such measures were justified in relation to Russian citizens.
Also, the PRC authorities should inform Russian diplomats by what criteria information from the phones of Russians can be deemed compromising, on the basis of which law, and, if this is an official order, why Russia was not warned in advance.

So, the attache of the Russian Consulate General Grigory Kolyshkin told TASS about the case when our compatriot was not allowed into China because information was found on the phone testifying to his intentions to work in China.
It was difficult for the diplomat to name the exact number of cases, since, according to him, not everyone notifies the consulate about problems of this kind.
