FSB: Zelensky’s victory does not reduce the risk of provocations off the coast of Crimea

Despite the change of power that has taken place in Ukraine, Russia should not be weakened. The risks of large-scale provocations on the Russian-Ukrainian border remain. This was stated by the head of the Border Service of the FSB of Russia, Army General Vladimir Kulishov.

According to the main Russian border guard, as before, the main goal of Ukrainian provocations may be the Crimean direction. The new authorities of Ukraine did not abandon claims to the territorial waters of Russia along the Crimean coast, so anything can be expected.

The Ukrainian military command has repeatedly stated its readiness to repeat the provocation in the Kerch Strait. That is, to organize the unauthorized passage of military vessels through Russian territorial waters, seeking the reaction of the Russian border service.

Kiev has not officially abandoned its announced intention to organize a second unauthorized passage through the Kerch Strait of Ukrainian ships, including with international observers and representatives of foreign media,

- emphasized Army General Kulishov.

Recall that as a result of the provocation on November 25, 2018, three Ukrainian military boats were detained by Russian border guards and towed to Russian ports, and the Ukrainian soldiers who were on them were arrested and detained. They are currently in a pretrial detention center and are awaiting trial.
