Putin's rating plunged to historic lows
The rating of confidence in the president of the Russian Federation has reached a historic low since 2006. This is evidenced by the results of surveys conducted in May.
According to VTsIOM for the period from May 13 to 19, this figure is 31,7 percent. The year 2006 was taken as the starting point, since before this study, the rating of confidence in various politicians not carried out.
At the same time, Putin’s figure is higher than that of other politicians. The second place in this rating is occupied by Minister of Defense Sergey Shoigu, and the third - by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Almost 15 percent of respondents trust Shoigu, and thirteen percent trust Lavrov.
Despite the fall in the rating of trust in Putin, almost 69 percent of respondents approve of his activity.
The rating of confidence in the president began to decline steadily since June last year, when the population of Russia was announced to raise their retirement age.
The trust survey was conducted according to the “soft” version. Respondents were asked to name the politicians they trust.
Experts, commenting on the dynamics of changes in the presidential rating recorded by various sociological studies, note that the sharp drop in the indicator occurred after the adoption of the pension reform, and then it practically “froze” in one place, showing some fluctuations within the margin of error.
