The four-legged robotic hero managed to drag a plane

A four-legged robot named HyQRea, developed by Italian engineers from Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, can be literally called a hero. In a recently published video, a zoomorphic robot drags a Piaggio P.180 Avanti aircraft, weighing 3 tons. At the same time, HyQRea managed to overcome a distance of 10 meters. The tests were carried out at the Genoa International Airport. Christopher Klumba.

The champion’s dimensions are 122 × 91 cm, weight - 130 kg. The 15-kilogram battery with which the “mechanical hero” is equipped is capable of providing 2 hours of continuous operation. This robot model is the successor developed several years ago by HyQ. It is worth noting that the predecessor was much smaller and lighter than its "powerful" brother.

The presentation of the HyQRea robot took place at the 2019 International Conference on Robotics and Automation, which is currently being held in Montreal. In addition to the ability to drag huge weights, the brainchild of Italian engineers has a number of additional advantages. For example, the zoomorph is not afraid of dust and water, and is also able to independently rise to its feet if it is accidentally knocked over.

Recall that HyQRea is not the first robot to be "awarded" with a team. A month early "mechanical DogsBoston Dynamics dragged a truck with them.
