As President of Ukraine, I look forward to further support of the European Commission in the framework of the negotiation process between Ukraine, the EU and Russia with the goal of concluding a contract for the transit of Russian natural gas through Ukraine after 2019. We will also be grateful for the EU’s joint position on countering the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline

Strengthening sanctions against Russia due to aggression is our really big hope. I hope that the sanctions pressure from the EU will continue. For us it is very important - not just in words. This is vital for Ukraine and the people we are losing in the Donbass
