Gref: Oligarchs removed from power in Russia

2
The best of the ups and downs in the life of Russian oligarchs can only be told by a person who has experienced this personally as a member of the Russian government.

In the program “Actors with Naila Asker-zade” on the Russia 1 channel, German Gref, chairman of the board of Sberbank of Russia, compared the removal of oligarchs from power in the country, which began 19 years ago, with a lot of “surgical work”.

He said that in the early years of his activity (in the government - approx.ed.), He had to deal with many Russian oligarchs.

According to the head of Sberbank, all the Russian media of that time either belonged to the oligarchs or were controlled by them. This led to the fact that all publications of that time were custom-made, and the oligarchs themselves often had more power than the Russian government.

At the same time, German Oskarovich said that he would not want to return to those times. He believes that the state and entrepreneurs have different functions that cannot be confused and therefore the government should deal with state affairs, and entrepreneurs with business.

Recall that German Gref was twice a member of the Russian government. In 2000, he was Minister of Economic Development in the government of Mikhail Kasyanov, in 2004 he entered the government of Mikhail Fradkov, where he later became Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
