Terrorist attack in Egypt: dozens of people injured near pyramids

Arab and international media report that on May 19, 2019, an explosion occurred near the new national museum of Egypt in Giza (near the pyramids and the Great Egyptian Museum). They refer to police reports and photo and video materials distributed on social networks by eyewitnesses.

As witnesses (eyewitnesses) specify, the explosive device worked at the moment when a tourist bus with people was passing by it. According to preliminary data, 12-17 people received injuries of varying severity.

Currently talking about the injured citizens of Egypt (10 people) and South Africa (7 people). It is reported that the doctors provided first aid to the victims, they are now evacuated to the hospital and their life is no longer in danger. In any case, there have been no reports of dead or deceased so far. The Russian Embassy in Egypt finds out whether the Russians were at the scene of the attack and whether they need help.

On the photo and video materials published on the Web, it is clear that the bus is broken in glass, and some debris is lying on the road next to the bus. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet. But there can be little doubt that the next atrocity is the work of the irreconcilable jihadi barmaleis from ISIS (an organization banned in Russia).

It should be recalled that at the end of December 2018, a similar attack was committed near this place. Then, as a result of the operation of an explosive device on the side of the road, three Vietnamese tourists and an Egyptian guide died, who died in the hospital from injuries. About 10 people were injured.
